Institutional Scholarships:

St. Louis Christian College awards a number of scholarships to qualified students.  These scholarships are both endowed and institutionally funded awards.  Criteria varies depending upon the particular scholarship.  The full value of the scholarship will be split equally between the fall and the spring semester.  Students attending only the fall or spring semester will only receive the half value of the scholarship. 


---Scholarships for New Students---


Academic Merit Tuition Scholarship:

Up to $11,160/year, split evenly between semesters. 

This annual tuition scholarship is awarded for incoming and returning full time degree seeking students if the student’s cumulative GPA or college entrance exam score (for incoming freshman students) meet one of the award amounts in the eligibility chart.  No application form is required.  If you meet the criteria, the scholarship will automatically be awarded up to the cost of tuition.  


Kiamichi Men's Clinic Tuition Scholarship:

$7500/year, split evenly between semesters

Available to the first time SLCC student who has placed in one of the top 4 places in the Kiamichi Men's Clinic.  The tuition scholarship amount for the 2017-2018 is $7500 evenly distributed over the first two semesters.


NACC Bible Bowl or Preaching Tuition Scholarship:

$7500/year, split evenly between semesters

Available to the first time SLCC student who has placed in the top 3 places in Bible Bowl (team or individual competition) or the Preaching Competition at the North American Christian Convention.  The tuition scholarship amount for 2017-2018 is $7500 evenly distributed over the first two semesters.


Summer Camp Tuition Scholarship:

$1,000

The summer camp tuition scholarship is awarded to the student who attends summer camp with an SLCC camp team and exhibits servant leadership. The tuition scholarship amount for 2017-2018 is $1,000.


Timothy Scholarship:

$1,000 

Awarded to any first time full time degree seeking student, for his/her regular Christian ministry service and leadership in the church. This scholarship is available to all first time full time degree seeking students who meet the requirements. A minimum of 100 hours of service and leadership activities in the current academic year are required for this scholarship. The vocational minister of the student’s attending church confirms the student’s regular ministry work in the church and will be asked to provide verification of the Christian service.  The tuition scholarship amount for 2017-2018 is $1,000.


Alumni Children Tuition Scholarship:

$500

This tuition scholarship is awarded to any full time degree seeking student who is a dependent of an alumnus of St. Louis Christian College.  The tuition scholarship amount for 2017-2018 is $500.  Verification with the registrar’s office required for awarding.


Christian Worker’s Children Tuition Scholarship:

$500 

The Christian Worker’s Children Scholarship is awarded to the child whose parent is employed in a church or a parachurch organization full time or is on the mission field.  Employment verification may be requested. Your scholarship will be awarded once you have enrolled in at least 12 credit hours at SLCC The tuition scholarship amount for 2017-2018 is $500.


Early Enrollment Scholarship:

$150

This tuition scholarship is awarded to the new applicant who is fully accepted ninety days prior to the start of the academic semester and enrolls full time (12 hrs.). $150 awarded fully in the first semester enrolled.


Campus Visit Day:

$100

Come experience SLCC for a day. Attend chapel, sit in a class, and enjoy lunch in President’s Hall.  Every junior, senior, transfer, or adult learner who attends a campus visit day and enrolls at SLCC will receive a campus visit day scholarship.  The admissions team will share important enrollment information including financial aid.  To qualify for your $100 SLCC scholarship, you must:

  • Register for a campus visit through the Admissions Office.

  • Attend all scheduled events.

  • Submit an application for admission to SLCC.

Your scholarship will be awarded once you have enrolled in at least 12 credit hours at SLCC.


Jesus 101: Life of Christ:

$1250 value

St. Louis Christian College offers a tuition-free, college accredited course for a first-time student. Contact the admissions staff for details.  An admissions application and paid application fee is required.


---Scholarships for Returning Students:---


Academic Merit Tuition Scholarship:

SLCC Traveling Team Tuition Scholarships:

$2,000/year 

Any current student with a cumulative GPA of 2.0 and in good disciplinary/financial standing with SLCC is eligible to apply for the SLCC traveling teams.  SLCC camp teams travels during June and July representing SLCC at area camps in the greater STL region.  The SLCC musical ensemble travel throughout the school year representing SLCC at various churches and youth groups.  Summer camp team tuition scholarship award for 2017-2018 is $2,000/year.  The SLCC musical ensemble travel is $960/year. To be eligible to apply or audition, the student must also be a full time degree seeking student.  See the admissions office for a summer camp team application.

Thomas W. McGee Tuition Scholarship:

This scholarship, awarded to returning students at the spring awards chapel for the upcoming academic year, is presented in honor of Chancellor Tom McGee for his years as SLCC’s President.  A scholarship application is required for this scholarship.  Eligibility requirements for consideration for this scholarship are: returning student, cumulative GPA of 3.0 or greater, a fall semester COMPASS grade of 3.0 or greater.

NOTE:  A student may “stack” automatic academic scholarships and scholarships given for outstanding leadership and Christian service.  This means a student can use all of the scholarships accumulated to pay for your tuition at SLCC.  All scholarships are for full time degree seeking students, apply to tuition only, are not cash awards, and not transferable and cannot be used for audit or certificate hours.

The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) must be submitted prior to consideration for financial aid.  (see http://www.fafsa.ed.gov).   SLCC’s code is 012580.

*A student entering St. Louis Christian College on a probationary acceptance status is not eligible for an automatic academic merit scholarship for that academic year.

Larry Doggett Tuition Scholarship:

This scholarship, awarded to returning students at the spring awards chapel for the upcoming academic year, is presented in honor of Professor Larry Doggett for his many years of teaching at SLCC.  A scholarship application is required for this scholarship.  Eligibility requirements for consideration for this scholarship are: returning student, cumulative GPA of 3.0 or greater, a fall semester COMPASS grade of 3.0 or greater.


Russell E. Boatman Scholarship:

This scholarship was established by the SLCC Alumni Association and is presented yearly by the Association to an SLCC student that has at least one parent who is an alum of SLCC.  


Non-Institutional Scholarships:


Church Scholarships

Many churches will offer scholarships to their members who are attending a Bible college. Talk to your church leadership about this possibility.


Alexander Christian Foundation

For high school graduates from Indiana, Florida, and other various states. See corresponding websites for more information.


WMU Foundation

Various scholarships and grants, including those specifically for missionary children. For more information, visit the website.
