Housing & Dining

There is no better way to transition to an independent lifestyle than to start by making SLCC your first home away from home. Whether you are attending intramural sports activities, joint study sessions, attending worship with your roommates or just hanging out, the SLCC residential halls offer a comfortable atmosphere for living and studying.

Residence Dorms

Residence hall living is considered an integral part of the educational experience. Not only does it develop lasting friendships, it contributes to academic achievement, interpersonal development, and a better understanding of yourself.

Traditional freshmen (those coming to the College straight from high school) enrolled for nine or more hours or completing a degree program are expected to live in College housing, unless living with their parents or a close relative.

Room assignments are made for the year; however, if changes are necessary, arrangements may be made with the Residence Director. The College reserves the right to move students for appropriate reasons.

Married Student Housing

For married students the College maintains 16 apartments on campus. These apartments are only for married students, and their spouses and children, who are currently enrolled full-time in classes at SLCC that apply toward a degree. Apartments are reserved through the Office of the Vice President of Student Life. Rent is charged six months at a time and becomes a part of your school bill for the semester.

Meals at Circle Cafe

Our cafeteria offers meals three times a day whenever day classes are in session. Meals include an entree, fruit and salad bar, sandwich bar, beverage and dessert. Often special meals, such as a holiday feast, are offered to the student body. Students living in the residence dorms are required to sign up for cafeteria meals. Students in the apartments and commuting students can pay for meals as they go through the cafeteria or buy a discounted punch pass in the bookstore. Special arrangements may be made with the chef for those with special dietary needs.
